The fifth World Floorball Championships took place in Zürich and Kloten, Switzerland (May 4 to May 23, 2004). It was a great tournament for the Czechs who ended just one step away from becoming the champions. But the Swedes were a bit stronger and got their fifth title in a row. Swiss forward Matthias Hofbauer finished as the scoring leader of the tournament gathering 22 points in 6 games.
